Products/Services Offered
• Saraf the Jeweller deals in gold jewellery, gold coins, platinum jewellery, diamond jewellery and silver coins. We only sell our products through our retail physical stores across the country. Currently we have our physical stores in Chandigarh, Mohali and Zirakpur. We don’t sell products online nor do we ship them to the customers.Customers can visit our stores to see our entire range and also know about their pricing. Details of Products showcased on our website and mobile application can be known from our retail physical stores.
• We offer jewellery purchase advance deposit schemes to our customers. We offer 2 different such schemes namely
1. Gold Tree Scheme (14+1 scheme)
2. Swarnam Scheme (24+3 scheme)
The terms and conditions of both the schemes are mentioned below in detail.Customers can enrol in the schemes only by visiting our retail physical stores.
Saraf The Jeweller Refund/Exchange Programme
• We will be happy to accept the jewellery sold through any Saraf the Jeweller store, as per the prevailing terms and conditions of the Saraf the Jeweller Exchange Policy, which is operated at the discretion of the company.
• We will accept Jewellery for exchange after due examination for defects, weights and originality, including the identification and damage or stone defects (cracks, replacements and alterations).
• We will be able to exchange Jewellery in the same store for same value of the Invoice, provided the Jewellery is brought back in the same condition in which it was sold, within seven (7) working days from the date of Invoice/sale.
o We will not be able to make a full value exchange if the jewellery sold has been tampered, altered, misused, broken or repaired in any way.
o We will not be able to refund cash in exchange for the Jewellery.
o Jewellery will have to be purchased against the full value of the product returned. Fresh purchases made against an exchange would be billed at the applicable gold rate on that day.
o No exchange shall be made without Original Invoice copy being presented by the customer.
• At the time of exchange of jewellery purchased from our store, we will value the piece on the following basis:
o The gold content will be valued on the basis of the Company’s prevailing gold rate on the date of exchange.
o The weight of the gold will be net of all pearl, stones, lac, dust, dirt and any other extraneous material.
o Diamonds, platinum and other precious and semi-precious stones will be valued with appropriate deductions on the prevailing rates.
o Making charges, taxes and the value of all other stones, beads and pearls and any discounts given on the original invoice, will be completely deducted.
• Plain jewellery with signify will have 3% deduction on gross weight on exchange.
• While normal wear and tear is to be expected, no credit shall be given to the customer for excessive wear and tear, damage, or stone defects (cracks, replacements and alterations).
• Saraf The Jeweller Exchange Programme requires that the Original Cash Memo and Authenticity Certificate be produced at the time of exchange If the same is not produced, an additional deduction of 10% will be made on the final stone value (less discounts, if any) as estimated & applicable and additional time will be taken for valuation. Valuation made by Saraf the Jeweller will be final for exchange.
• If you seek a refund, an additional deduction of 10% on studded and Platinum Jewellery and 2% for other jewellery / products or as applicable from time to time on exchange will be levied on the final exchange value. Refunds in excess of Rs. 10,000/- shall be made only by way of Account Payee Cheque / Crossed Demand Draft, which may take at least 10-15 days and the same will be issued only on Customer name.
• Issue of Credit Note for the value of Exchange has been discontinued. Customers are requested to redeem the value of Exchange immediately.
• In case of any dispute, Courts in Chandigarh only will have jurisdiction.
• The company can withhold or alter Saraf the Jeweller Exchange Programme without prior notice at any given time.
Swarnam Scheme Detailed Terms and Conditions
1. Account Opening & Enrolment
a. Only individuals can enrol in Swarnam Jewellery Purchase Scheme and enrolment is not permissible for companies, partnership or proprietorship firms. Enrolment is only permissible by visiting any Saraf the Jeweller store personally.
b. On enrolment every SWARNAM account holder will be given a Scheme Book which he/she is required to carry & keep under safe custody, at all times. The SWARNAM account holder must ensure that any discrepancy should be immediately bought to the respective store manager’s notice, for suitable rectification, especially the name of the account holder where in the name should be as per the ID proof provided by them and not in any other name, including nick name or short form etc.
c. At the time of enrolment, the SWARNAM account holder should ensure that the Scheme book is signed by him/her and by the Saraf store Manager/Cashier, in the space provided, accepting terms and conditions, to ensure the validity of Scheme Book and for proper reference at the time of maturity/purchase under the Scheme.
d. The bearer of the SWARNAM book cannot be considered as the owner of the SWARNAM book if there is any discrepancy as per the ID Proof, Saraf reserves right to check the authenticity/ validity of the documents and person representing for redemption/refund at the sole discretion of Saraf which is final and binding.
e. In case of any change in contact or address details, the SWARNAM account holder is required to intimate the Saraf Store or email to info@sarafthejeweller.com within 7(seven) days from date of such change.
f. The SWARNAM shall be denominated and utilized/redeemed in Indian Rupees only. Any scheme once selected can’t be converted into any other scheme (existing or new) which may be operated or implemented by Saraf, from time to time.
g. The maturity date shall be strictly calculated according to the date of joining or enrolment date.
2. Monthly Payments
a. The SWARNAM account holder should ask for a computerized entry in the Scheme Book or collect his/her duly computerized receipt, from the Saraf Store where he/she is making the payment and later get the scheme book updated.
b. Payment of monthly instalment(s) should be made by cash, card, online payment via our Mobile Application, NEFT/RTGS, UPI, cheque or demand draft in favour of “Saraf the Jewellers”. Outstation cheque will not be accepted.
c. Penalty of Rs. 200 will be charged for every dishonoured cheque by the SWARNAM account holder, deductible at redemption.
d. Non-payment of monthly instalments for more than 3 months will result in “suspension” of the account.
3 SWARNAM Redemption:
a. At the time of purchase of jewellery upon maturity of the SWARNAM, the SWARNAM account holder has to personally visit any Saraf the Jeweller store with his/her original Scheme Book and affect the redemption of the instalments paid towards purchase of jewellery. In case any person other than the account holder is redeeming SWARNAM account, an authorisation letter issued by the account holder is also required.
b. In addition to the gold and stone charges, all jewellery purchased under the Scheme will be subject to labour charges, making charges, wastage charges, sales tax or surcharges as may be applicable.
c. Discount eligibility of SWARNAM account holder as per the Scheme shall be reduced by cheque dishonour charges and other deductions on account of payment delays, as specified in the SWARNAM, at the time of enrolment.
d. In the event of any premature closure of the account by the account holder, such account holder may purchase jewellery at the Saraf Store equal to the value of the instalments accumulated in his/her account as on that day. However, no discount on purchase of jewellery will be given in case where number of instalments paid is less than 6 instalments and below 180 days under any circumstances.
4. Other Terms and Conditions:
a. In the event of loss of the SWARNAM Scheme Book, the SWARNAM account holder has to intimate the concerned Saraf Store in writing or email to info@sarafthejeweller.com immediately to enable Saraf to block the SWARNAM account. In case of any delay or non-intimation, he/she shall be personally responsible for any loss or redemption/purchase by any other person.
b. In the event of loss of the original SWARNAM Scheme Book, a duplicate Scheme Book can be issued only if the SWARNAM account holder provides an indemnity letter, valid photo identity & address proof and all computerized receipts given to him/her in the past for authentication by the Saraf Store. The Saraf Store shall not issue any duplicate Scheme Book unless they are satisfied about the authenticity of the claim/request for duplicate Scheme Book. In all cases administrative charges of Rs 100/- will be charged.
c. In the event of the death of the SWARNAM account holder, the account is transferable only to the person(s) whose nomination has been filled by the account holder in the form at the time of opening the account subject to such nominee producing adequate identity proof and succession certificate to the concerned showroom. In case the account holder does not wish to nominate any person, any claim(s) made by any other person(s) on behalf of the account holder will not be entertained. In the event of any legal heir of the deceased claiming redemption, the same shall be redeemed only upon production of the death certificate of the deceased, Survivorship certificate/Legal heir certificate, NOC from other surviving legal heir for redemption, Indemnity undertaking to indemnify Saraf from future claims, Will (if any).
d. The Company reserves the right to alter, amend, add or delete part or whole of the privileges of the SWARNAM without prior notice to the SWARNAM account holder, as long as the same is not detrimental to the interests of the SWARNAM account holder.
e. Saraf is the sponsor of SWARNAM and reserves the right to suspend SWARNAM at any time. In any such event, the SWARNAM account holder may purchase any item at Saraf Store equal to the value of instalments accumulated in his/her SWARNAM account along with the discount accumulated, as on the day.
Key Conditions for the SWARNAM customers (24 Months Scheme)
1. The SWARNAM is a 24-month scheme wherein the customer has to pay 1 fixed instalment every month for 24 months and his/her account will mature after 730 days from the date of joining the Scheme.
2. For the purpose of the SWARNAM, the date of first payment will be considered as date of joining or enrolment date.
3. SWARNAM will allow the customer to pay 24 fixed monthly instalments of minimum Rs. 1,000 or above in multiples of Rs. 500.
4. Customer is required to provide an original copy of his/her photo ID like Ration Card/Passport/Pan Card/Aadhar Card/Driving License/Voter ID and Bank details at the time of enrolment into the scheme and on maturity of the scheme for authentication.
5. The customer is mandatorily required to redeem his/her account before 760 days from the date of joining the scheme.
6. 300% of one instalment would be given as discount on the purchase of jewellery only if all 24 monthly instalments are paid by the account holder till the maturity date, in accordance with terms and conditions of this scheme.
7. Gold coins can’t be purchased against the instalments paid under the Scheme. Monthly instalments paid under the Scheme can be made only against the purchase of jewellery at Saraf the Jeweller.
8. Gold rate booked or charged on the invoice shall be based on the Saraf rate of gold prevailing on the date of purchase.
9. Saraf store will not be responsible or liable to send reminders for payments.
10. Disputes if any, will be subject to the courts in Chandigarh jurisdiction only, to exclusion of any other court’s jurisdiction.
11. The customers would be eligible for a discount of 300% of one-month instalment upon completion of 760 days from the date of joining the scheme. However, if the customer wishes to redeem after 180 days but before 760 days, discount would proportionately vary based upon on the number of days. No discount is offered on redemption before 180 days from the date of joining the Scheme or if 6 instalments are not paid. An example is given below the reference.

12. SWARNAM account holder shall be eligible for the purchase of jewellery with discount, only on the maturity date and not earlier.
13. The Saraf Exchange Policy (SEP) and the General Exchange Policy (GEP) can be availed in conjunction with the SWARNAM.
14. SWARNAM is to be fully redeemed against purchase of jewellery and no credit note or refund either in full or partial is permitted
15. At the time of purchase, the Scheme Book has to be submitted by the SWARNAM account holder to the Saraf Store (and his/her signature on redemption has to tally with the specimen signature in the Scheme Book).
16. Any conditions which are explicitly not covered above would be at the discretion of Saraf at the time of redemption/transaction. The decision of Saraf in this regard would be deemed as irrevocable and final.
17. In case of any change in existing laws, rules, acts etc. by any regulatory authority, necessary requirements as per the same have to be compiled with by the SWARNAM account holder.
GTS Scheme Detailed Terms and Conditions
Key Conditions for the GTS customers (14 Months Scheme)
1. The GTS is a 14-month scheme wherein the customer has to pay 1 fixed instalment every month for 14 months and his/her account will mature after 425 days from the date of joining the Scheme.
2. For the purpose of the GTS, the date of first payment will be considered as date of joining or enrolment date.
3. GTS will allow the customer to pay 14 fixed monthly instalments of minimum Rs. 1,000 or above in multiples of Rs. 500.
4. Customer is required to provide an original copy of his/her photo ID like Ration Card/Passport/Pan Card/Aadhar Card/Driving License/Voter ID and Bank details at the time of enrolment into the GTS and on maturity of the GTS for authentication.
5. The customer is mandatorily required to redeem his/her account before 450 days from the date of joining the scheme.
6. 100% of one instalment would be given as discount on the purchase of jewellery only if all 14 monthly instalments are paid by the account holder till the maturity date, in accordance with terms and conditions of this scheme.
7. Gold coins can’t be purchased against the instalments paid under the Scheme. Monthly instalments paid under the Scheme can be made only against the purchase of jewellery at Saraf the Jeweller.
8. Gold rate booked or charged on the invoice shall be based on the Saraf rate of gold prevailing on the date of purchase.
9. Saraf store will not be responsible or liable to send reminders for payments.
10. Disputes if any, will be subject to the courts in Chandigarh jurisdiction only, to exclusion of any other court’s jurisdiction.
11. The customers would be eligible for a discount of 100% of one-month instalment upon completion of 425 days from the date of joining the scheme. However, if the customer wishes to redeem after 395 days but before 425 days, discount would proportionately vary between 90% to 100% based on the number of days. No discount is offered on redemption before 395 days from the date of joining the Scheme. An example is given below the reference.
